On the 19th of August 2016, Presidential Candidate (R) Donald J. Trump went to a nearly all-white rally in Michigan and asked black people of America, “What do you have to lose?”
Donald Jackanapes Trump with his beady chicken-eyed self figures that Afro-Americans should vote for him because he figures black people have nothing to lose in doing so. After all of the systematic, “All American” macro-scale sociological bullying of black people in America, he asks what do black people have to lose.
“Look at how much African American communities are suffering from Democratic control. To those I say the following: What do you have to lose by trying something new like Trump? What do you have to lose?” he asked. “You live in your poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs, 58 percent of your youth is unemployed. What the hell do you have to lose?” ~ Trump, Republican Presidential Candidate
The problem with Donald Jongleur Trump’s counterfeit pitch, are manyfold. I can elaborate on the details of his nonsensical pitch, such as the fact that most black people are not living in poverty. I could also point out the fact that Trump conflated number by adding high school students in his “young black work force ” statistic, which is NOT a metric that the Department of Labor uses. I can also add if you use his same parameters, whites would be at 50% out of work, to strike home. But naw. I’m not going to do that.
I’m going to point out the FACT that after all this time, Donald Jobbernowl Trump has been pandering HARD towards white people, to the point of pandering white supremacists. Donald Jabroni Trump (okay, I’ll stop now) after all this time has been telling white people what they have to gain, but when it comes to black people, he asks the wrong questions. Instead of asking something that makes sense like, “How can I service your community, black people?” He asks, “What do you have to lose?”
I could state something like self dignity, but whatever.
The problem here is that Trump goes over-the-top with pandering to white people to the point of telling them they have to gain impossible, nonsensical things like a Great Wall of China style thing at the Mexican border. His campaign slogan, “Let’s Make America Great Again” is a call for whites to obtain the white privilege (read: Racism) of their klancestors.
White people, especially blatantly racist whites, even gain intrinsic gifts like validating their hatred and racist ideologies, which includes validating their violence and hate crimes. Trump wouldn’t dare ask white people what do they have to lose. But black people? Sure, why not?
He’s going to provide whites with what they have to gain in supporting him, and in regards to intrinsic “value” so to speak, you can see the results right now.
You cannot tell one group what they have to gain, and tell the other what they have to lose. This isn’t up for debate.
Looking at this even further, not even a Democrat –black or otherwise — isn’t idiotic enough to tell poor rural bum-assed butt-stinking whites to look at how poor and miserable they are and vote Dem because they have “nothing to lose”. Can you say bum-ass blacks got no positive change from Dems in charge? Sure. But you can say the same thing about bum-ass whites under GOP control.
If you want my assessment, I’d say that Trump is not even really talking or asking a question to black people at all. Trump in this case is actually talking to whites. Yeah.
For those who are not following: this is something that Republicans do a LOT. Republicans love to hold talks and discussions with black people only to use them as props on a set. In this case, Trump isn’t concerned with the black vote, he’s only saying his pitch to black people as a way to perhaps maybe make it seem like he isn’t as racist and bigoted as he really is. This plea, is practically a Trojan Horse for the more moderate white vote.
You see, white people are batshit stupid when it comes to pointing out how racism works. White people — to include moderates and white liberals — prefer to protect their white comfort than to actually look white privilege in the mirror. In short, Trump is providing smoke screen for the white moderate to deny any racism and then vote for him with their white fragility intact.
While Trump’s pitch to black people is as empty as a spent banana peel (and just as dangerous to break your neck on) I sincerely hope black people actually do begin to wonder not what they have to lose, but what they have to gain from these politicians. From there, we can begin making demands as the community we stand.
