BEFORE I get to the meat and potatoes of this column, let me start by dismantling this mythology of Putin.  Sure he’s an ex-KGB officer who can probably break more necks than Tekken, I’ll concede that.  But one thing he isn’t is this elite thinker who has outclassed our President by invading a portion of Ukraine.  The portion of Ukraine he invaded — Crimea — is a location that used to be a part of Russia, mostly speaks Russian, likes being Russian, and already identifies as Russian by majority ethnically and politically.  It’s not like they took Poland.  Taking the Crimean Peninsula is not that difficult.  So no, he’s not some sort of tactical genius.  It’s not that hard, stop bullshitting, stop gassing his head up please.

Being that the Putin Mythology has been dismantled, There’s also a mythology on our own President: weak and unwilling.  This too, is also bullshit.  After over a decade of warfare, our nation is tired of war and President no. 44 knows it.  In fact, that’s why he got elected.  Twice.

With these two mythologies in full swing in the media, I can’t help but to notice how our conservatives seem to actually envy Putin, or envy how Putin operates.  You see, GOP politicians don’t just see the West and President Obama as weak; they also seem envious of Putin’s bullying.  Listen to the rhetoric, and do a pattern analysis of their language surrounding current events in Ukraine.  There is something strange about politicians and pundits who vehemently denounce Putin yet yearn for a more Putin-like figure in the White House.

“Well, yes, especially under the commander-in-chief that we have today because Obama’s — the perception of him and his potency across the world is one of such weakness. And you know, look, people are looking at Putin as one who wrestles bears and drills for oil. They look at our president as one who wears mom jeans and equivocates and bloviates. We are not exercising that peace through strength that only can be brought to you courtesy of the red, white and blue, that only a strengthened United States military can do.” ~ Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin, a ditzy favorite who never ceases helping republicans fail at life, certainly seems like one of the GOP/conservatives who envy not having an actual communist as a Commander-in-Chief.  “Probably wrestles bears”?  Is that something all republicans from Alaska aspire to do?  I doubt she even knows what “equivocate” means.

“In fact, Putin — ready for this — Postponed the Oscar telecast last night. He didn’t want his own population distracted. He wanted his own population knowing full well what he was doing, and he wanted them celebrating him. They weren’t distracted. We were.” ~ Rush Limbaugh

Rush Limbaugh, a person who lives up to his namesake in regards to rushing in judgement, also sounds like a man who gets a hard on for the notion of having an American version of Putin as president.

So what’s with this Republican crush with Vlad Putin?  Do they really want a communist autocrat as a President?  If that’s the case, then what’s with all that “tyrant” talk?  What’s with calling President Obama “tyrannical” and stuff?  If you really thought about it, it’s like that’s what they want, right?

THE SILLINESS inherent in all this talk is glaring when you notice that conservatives seem to hang on for dear life to manufactroversies such as Benghazi, IRS, NSA capabilities for example — as being the result of a ruthless, manipulative, tyrannical autocrat in office; the very thing they seem to envy in Putin.  Like many hypocrisies in politics… from sedition petitions, from full blown insurrections, to taking on M1 Abrams with a dearest assault rifle…  They really don’t want what they are asking for.
